In 1985, Jack Lentz saw a need that no other mail and parcel center at the time was fulfilling—offering a complete line of small office and home-based office services under one roof. Lentz named the business, "PostalAnnex+", and three locations were operating in less than one year.
With success quickly blooming, Postal Annex+, Inc. sold its first franchise in 1986, located in the Rancho Penasquitos community of San Diego, California. Since then PostalAnnex+ has grown to nearly 300 locations across the U.S.
Seeing an opportunity to also grow through acquisition, in September 2006 Postal Annex+, Inc. acquired the Florida-based Sunshine Pack & Ship® retail and commercial shipping centers. The Sunshine acquisition provided new opportunities with the shipping of large, fragile and valuable items through its logistics and van line operations.
Then, in September 2007, the Company added to its numbers again with the acquisition of the Handle With Care Packaging Store® brand. These locations strengthened the company's vertical reach into the shipping and transportation business through its commercial logistics operations, including creating packing solutions via custom-built corrugated cartons or wooden crates. A brand with over thirty five years of history itself, the Handle With Care Packaging Store counts a majority of franchise owners who each bring over 10 years of experience in shipping fragile, large, awkward and valuable items.
As a result of a growing number of brands beyond the flagship brand PostalAnnex+, the company renamed itself Annex Brands, Inc, in late 2007.
In January, 2011, Annex Brands acquired the franchise system of Navis Pack & Ship®.  With over 15 years of experience in shipping large, high-value or fragile items, the Navis network developed a reputation for their expertise in designing custom-packaging solutions for a wide range of budgets and objects.
In August, 2011, the Company continued its growth with the addition of 62 AIM Mail Center® franchised locations.  Many of the AIM Mail Center franchisees brought a specialization in digital printing service, including wide format printing, signs, banners, and more.  

November, 2014 brought 28 Parcel Plus® franchises into the Annex Brands franchise family, expanding the Company’s presence in the mid-Atlantic states and the West.  Similar to the PostalAnnex+ retail brand, Pak Mail, and AIM Mail Center, Parcel Plus franchisees also have developed an expertise in the area of full-service printing.

The Annex Copy Center brand was established in March, 2012 as a full-service copy and print center. With investment in a variety of industrial printing and finishing machines, Annex Copy offers graphic design service, full-bleed digital printing, production of signs and banners, plus a variety of finishing services such as scoring, perforating, folding, aqueous coating, hole-punching, stapling and more.

Most recently, Annex Brands acquired Pak Mail Centers of America, Inc. in April, 2016, franchisor of over 370 Pak Mail locations in the U.S., Mexico, and Japan.   In addition to the retail business services, many Pak Mail franchisees are significant shippers of freight items, building custom wooden crates and corrugated cartons.

Today, the Company continues to seek growth both through sale of new franchise locations as well as acquisitions. Annex Brands is committed to being a premier choice for small business ownership in the business services and shipping segment of the franchising industry.
